Buying Christmas ornaments year after year can be expensive. When we think of Christmas season all that comes to our mind after the ‘Santa’ is the ‘expenses’. Christmas season is highly commercialized which makes it an expensive season. So you can cut down the expenses a little by making your own Christmas ornaments. You can also make small artwork with gold thread and stick it on top to make these balls more attractive. 
You can collect all the Christmas cards you get and punch a little hole on top and thread it to hang on your Christmas tree. They also form a wonderful and easy to make Christmas decoration.
You can make wonderful Christmas ornaments with egg shells. You need to collect and clean egg shells. When you want to collect egg shells for Christmas ornaments, you will have to make a tiny hole on the top of the egg to empty the inner contents. After emptying you need to wash the inner surface of the egg by dipping it in water. Once cleaned and dried you can use your old nail polishes that you 1000 are not using anymore or those nail polishes that are in the verge of drying to paint the surface of the egg shells.
